Tonbridge and Malling for Europe is one of 14 Kent-based organisations that have made a joint request to Kent County Council to study the impact of Brexit on our county.
On Wednesday 28 February, representatives of the 14 groups delivered a letter signed by the chairs of the groups to County Hall in Maidstone. Addressed to David Brazier and Paul Carter, the chairman and the leader of KCC, this letters list a series of concerns regarding and asks the council to thoroughly investigate what impact Brexit will have on the economy , society and infrastructure of Kent.
The letter was delivered to county hall as part of the visit of the Brexit: Is It Worth It? Bus to Maidstone, which also visited Dover and Canterbury on the same day.
The groups plan further actions to pressure the council into investigating whether Brexit is worth it, should it choose not to reply.
The action has been reported in the local press, and more details are available on the website of Mid-Kent 4EU which coordinated the action on behalf of the other groups.
